Remembrance at Ludworth Primary

Mrs Robinson led a moving assembly today where the whole school explored why we have Remembrance Day on 11th November every year and why we stay silent for two minutes at 11am.

It was so wonderful to see how respectfully every child in the school managed to stay silent and show their respect for the full two minutes; even our very youngest children from the nursery department.

The whole school drew around their hands to produce a Ludworth poppy.

Two children and Mrs Sones then took our wreath to the cenotaph.

This week, every class has been using different forms of art to make poppies. We have also been exploring Remembrance in every class through stories. Our poppies and the writing we produce will be displayed around our quadrangle to remind us of why we should care about those people who put their lives in danger to protect Britain and our way of life.
