Mini Police Success at the POP Awards!

Every year, Durham Constabulary holds an award ceremony to recognise projects that have adopted a problem-oriented partnerships (POP) approach and involved partner agencies, organisations and volunteers from the community to address issues of concern in their neighbourhoods.

The Mini Police started out as a small project led by PC Craig Johnson. At Ludworth, we were very quick to sign up to this project and in fact we were the first school on board. The project now includes dozens of schools across County Durham and is attracting national interest.

Our children and Miss Herbert presented to officials from Duham Constabulary as well as other local dignitaries and were chosen as winners of this prestigious award.

We are immensely proud of the children and their teacher. They have done a fantastic job as Mini Police and have gained in their sense of responsibility, understanding of police roles and their own personal confidence.

Well done!
