Her Majesty the Queen's 90th Birthday

Preparation for our afternoon celebrations started at least a week ago when we all started to plan a traditional, British street party. Parents were asked to contribute party food, teachers planned activities to explore the Queen's life and children prepared for a 'Portrait of the Queen' competition and a 'Crown Making' competition.

Look at all this fantastic food!

The afternoon started with a long assmbly exploring the Queen's life. While Mrs Sones led the assembly, the rest of the teachers were setting up ready for our street party and royal games. The Power Point Mrs Sones used for the assembly can be found at the bottom of this page.

In assembly, we were presented with trophies for the best crowns and portraits from each class.

Outside, we all played royal games, such as 'Pin the Crown on the Queen', 'Royal Treasure Hunt', 'Build the Queen a Palace' and 'Buried Royal Treasure'. We had fantastic fun and the weather was superb!

Then we had our fantastic food; just like a good, old fashioned, British street party!

Happy Birthday to Her Royal Majesty Queen Elizabeth II from all at Ludworth Primary School.
