Our Visit to Hardwick Park

On Friday 2nd November, the whole school except for our 2-year-olds enjoyed an amazing day at Hardwick Park. It was a lovely day: cold but clear and sunny. When we arrived at the park we split into two groups: classes 1 and 2 together, with classes 3 and 4 being the second group.

The groups used Hardwick's fantistic outdoor environment to explore different stories. Classes 1 and 2 were working with Julia Donaldson's 'Room on the Broom', while classes 3 and 4 used a variety of Roald Dahl stories. There was a lot of wonderful activities going on, from making clay monsters, to mixing potions and making seats for brooms. The children had a lot of fun!

Just before we climbed back on the bus to return to school, everyone enjoyed spending ten minutes in Hardwick Park's fantastic playground.

For the whole week when the children return to school they will be building on their time at Hardwick Park to develop some fantastic writing.
